About the Artist

Lucy Rockliffe gained a Fine Art Degree specialising in sculpture at Bristol Art College. She has worked as a commercial artist in London and was a project manager for a community arts group Freeform Arts Trust.

Since moving down to Devon 12 years ago she has rediscovered clay and works from home making hand-built ceramics, exploring different firing techniques and clays. She is currently experimenting with Raku techniques of smoked ceramics which enhance her themes of discovered objects and mythical creatures. She exhibits in local craft galleries and shows.

Her enthusiasm for sharing the tactile qualities of clay with others has led her to running her own creative clay workshops. She is also keen to help facilitate collective artworks such as murals, installations and mosaics.
